Configuring the eCart Object

The eCart Object dialog controls the configuration of the varying options specific to your shopping cart implementation, ranging from currency type to shipping calculations.

This information has been organized across multiple tabs in this dialog:

The first three tabs define the high level currency and data storage options, the columns for each type of data relevant to items placed in the cart, and possible calculations based on data available within columns in the cart. Information specific to these configuration options can be found in the the following sections:

General: Sets the persistence option, currency and item weight settings.
Columns: Sets the columns utilized within the cart, both default and custom.
Calculations: Sets how totals are calculated for columns within the cart.

The remaining four tabs detail the configuration of additional merchandising options and are discussed in detail in the following section:

Discounts, Charges, Taxes and Shipping: Details the process of creating merchandising rules to establish how charges, discounts, taxes, and shipping are applied based on the contents of the cart and your business requirements.
